Song: “Before the Summer Comes”

I wrote this eleven days ago. I got home from work and felt like I wanted to communicate something, and it ended up becoming this mini-song of one and a half minutes. I wrote it on guitar but it wanted to be a piano piece, which is why it took a while to get it done – I had to practice. I am simply not well-versed enough as a pianist to have an easy time playing this… I know this is a pretty simple one. Hope you like it anyway.

Before the Summer Comes

For so much of our lives
We walk alone
For so much of our time
We stay unknown

But when the lights go out
And when the winter comes
Don’t you just hold on to yourself
I will be there for you, as well

So when the lights go out
Before the summer comes
Don’t you just hold on to yourself
Darling, hold on to me, as well
